Batch 1 · 7-Day Starter Challenge

Seven days to your first real conversation in Bali

Bahasa Indonesia and basic Balinese for people who live here. The warung, the market, your driver, your neighbours — one situation a day, spoken out loud.

Rp 99.000 · Starts 5 Oct 2026 · 7 of 30 seats left

Why most expats stay quiet

Years in Bali, and still ordering by pointing

  1. You know words, but you do not say them

Terima kasih is easy to remember. Saying it out loud to someone who might answer back is not.

  2. Apps teach sentences nobody uses here

Your warung does not need you to describe the weather. It needs you to order, ask the price, and say thank you.

  3. Balinese is where the warmth is, and where the mistakes are

A Balinese greeting lands differently from an Indonesian one, and it has speech levels that are easy to get wrong.

The week

One situation a day, in the order you meet them

Each day opens at 07:00 Bali time and ends with something you say out loud to a real person.

  1. An illustrated young Balinese man in an udeng headband and sarong, waving hello.

    Day 1

    Hello Bali

The eight words that stop you being a stranger

  2. An illustrated Balinese woman in a kebaya, smiling with an open hand as she introduces herself.

    Day 2

    Introduce Yourself

Say who you are before someone else decides for you

  3. An illustrated young Balinese man holding a plate of rice and side dishes beside a wooden warung counter.

    Day 3

    Warung Survival

Order what you actually want, for what it actually costs

  4. An illustrated young Balinese man holding up rupiah notes and pointing at them.

    Day 4

    Money & Price

Ask the price, hear the answer, and know what to do next

    Day 5

    Direction & Transport

Get where you are going without opening the map app

  6. An illustrated young Balinese man with his palms pressed together in a respectful greeting.

Take a seat in Batch 1

Inside each day

Read it, hear it, then say it out loud

  • 8–12 key phrases for one real situation
  • Native-speaker audio for every phrase, with a transcript
  • A short dialogue and a cultural note
  • A five-question quiz you can retake
  • A voice-note challenge, answered by a real mentor

Day 3 · Warung Survival

Tidak pedas

TEE-dak puh-DAHS

Not spicy

Cultural note
Warung prices are fixed. Bargaining belongs in the market; trying it over nasi campur reads as insulting rather than shrewd.
Speaking challenge
Record a full warung order. Greet, order one dish, set your chilli level, add a drink, and ask for the bill.

Batch 1

Thirty seats, because every voice note gets a reply

A mentor listens to every recording. Thirty people a day is as many as we can answer properly, so the batch stops there.

The Balinese in this course is limited to safe, everyday phrases and is published only after a local cultural advisor has signed it off.
